Recipe Share - Chocolate Brownie

A couple of days ago I posted an image of my brownie on Instagram and asked if my audience would like the recipe. I got a pretty strong ‘yes’ so here it is! Chocolate is a good distractor right now, it soothes our emotional soul and this is the easiest brownie recipe there ever was. Gather the ingredients, pop your oven on and get ready for some chocolate gooey-ness.

Ingredients
1 cup plain flour
¾ cup of dark cocoa
1 cup caster sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
180g of unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
1 teaspoon of vanilla paste
3 eggs at room temperature, lightly beaten

Method
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Grease and line a square baking tin with baking paper. In a large mixing bowl sift together the flour, cocoa and both sugars. Whisk to break up any sugary lumps. Mix together the eggs, melted butter and vanilla paste, add to the flour mix and stir until smooth.

Pour mix into the prepared tin and use the back of a spoon to level the mixture out. If you like your brownie gooey, place in the oven and bake for 35 minutes. If you like it a little more cakey, place it in the oven and bake for 45 minutes.

Remove from the oven, allow to cool for 10 minutes and then place onto a cake plate. Serve warm with a dollop of cream or ice-cream. The brownie can also be served cool but warm straight from the oven is highly recommended.

We all know at this stage, a bit of baking, a bit of chocolate and a good pot of tea is helpful, even if it’s for a short moment. At Hold Cottage, our guests are provided with a selection of beautiful Tea Garden Co loose leaf tea. We can highly recommend sitting down to a slice of brownie with a pot of Tea Garden Co’s ‘Good Morning London’, a beautiful, traditional black tea served with a dash of milk or ‘Pyjama Party’, a fresh, clean mint tea with a twist.

We hope this little bit of chocolaty, gooey goodness brings you a few moments of joy through these long and hard days. If you do give the recipe a go, we would love for you to share it across your social channels and tag us at Hold Cottage. Lets share and connect the only way we can right now.
